Far from the truth to be honest, grrm has been working with the shows creators to guide them on what is happening in the books, but most of the butthurt book fans online are in denial of this (and most of them still believe stannis is alive), yeah d&d changed a few things like lady stoneheart etc, but that was to make the story flow better on screen without the non important filler stuff that is non essential to the main story, like it or not right now the show is canon, hell who knows if he will ever finish the book before he dies, he is to busy eating pizza and chasing after that german porn star heh.

1. Because that's what a lot of people were sold on in the earlier seasons. It's really annoying when shows have a ton of nudity in their 1st seasons or pilot episodes and then nothing later on, it amounts to false advertising. If you don't want to have nudity on your shows then don't, but don't set up a standard and then not follow through.

2. In a show like Game Of Thrones nudity isn't just ascetic, it's important to the plot. It demonstrates the type of of barbaric, medieval world the show takes place in. Also, it's not like the characters stopped having sex, or stopped being in sexual situations, it's just that they now do it without nudity, which is just silly.

 

I'm not in denial of that, I'm fully aware that he has and that he has even written a few episodes. However, when they make changes to the story simply to give more screen time to the lead actors, and not confuse casual viewers with too many characters, cut out large chunks of the story and so it, it just feels to me that they are far more interested in appeasing the audience that they have then telling the proper story. A key example of this would be to wait and see if George actually brings Jon Snow back. He's said repeatedly that he won't, but then again they always say that. If Jon is really dead in the books it becomes painfully obvious that the show only brought him back because he's a fan favourite, we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, I'm not butt-hurt about it and neither should you be. I prefer the books and I will always prefer the books, however the show is entertaining, and if you like it then good for you.

 

There has been a fair amount of nudity this season, indeed in every season. What GoT doesn't have is a lot of gratuitous nudity (at least with its major characters). There is also a dicey line here, in the books (of major female characters), neither Ygritte, Sansa, Dany or Maergery are of what is now considered "legal age". While the actresses who portray them are it can make for interesting censorship problems.

So is The Walking Dead a work of fan fiction?

If fans didn't keep coming up with overblown, over hyped theories (AKA...fan fiction), they might actually enjoy it a lot more. As for the lack of nudity, seriously who gives a fuck? I'm as big worshipper to the god of tits and wine as the next village idiot, but if it doesn't add anything to the story, it's unnecessary. Which is why a lot of the acting talent got pissed off with it. People seem to forget there is a difference between a collaborative adaptation and literal interpretation.

 

you mean they should do not do what the people want? That is just crazy the producers directors job is not to tell the story by the book its to get ratings no more no less. They will do everything they can to get more viewers even if it means Tyrion turns gay then has dragon sex. If they followed the books people would have stopped watching long time ago, they would have read the books and no suspense what so ever in what was going to happen

 

A lot of episodes went into setting up that one, so they can be forgiven.

 

I don't understand why some people feel compelled to analyze the hell out of TV shows. Everyone wants to be a critic, that their point of view means more than the next fellow's. Fuck that, just enjoy the ride. Until you've written and produced a successful TV series of your own, why should anyone care about you opinion? It's not like you're an actual expert speaking from practical experience.

 

No doubt the series is varying from the books and that is inevitable given the practical requirements of a tv/movie. For example Lady Stoneheart may not have suited their narrative or the actress may not have wanted to continue. I believe that the producers are doing a great job and that they always serve the story - if nudity is required they do it, same for violence or even killing off a popular character. This is one of the things that make GOT exceptionally good. For example a lot of the early nudity revolved around Tyrion's character - his whoring exploits and then his love affair with Shae. Now his character has moved on and evolved and it would no longer make sense. Dany hasn't been naked for several seasons until it made sense for her to emerge naked from the temple. No doubt nudity was a selling point in attracting fans to the show but it always served a purpose. My only regret is that we can see the various strands coming together to build to a climax. To hell with Winter, more frighteningly the End is coming!!
