USBDLM V4.2.2:

USBDLM is a Windows service that gives control over Window's drive letter assignment for USB drives. Running as service makes it independent of the logged on user's privileges, so there is no need to give the users the privilege to change drive letters.

There's also VirtualDudMod which I use to convert DVD's to a good quality xvid (avi format that is).
Good quality to me means about 10MB/min video in avi.

Tested the "Free Mp3 Wma Converter" (on a very old pc). Did a quick test, have not looked for the quality difference between the original file and the converted one!

Converting a mp3 to Ogg Vorbis was very slow. Ogg Vorbis to mp3 was a little faster. Wave to mp3 is fast (see below).

What got changed after: mp3 to ogg vorbis then again to mp3:
The original file mp3 [=320kbps, file =8,48MB] converted to Ogg Vorbis (256kbps, file 6,81Mb), then this Ogg Vorbis file converted back to mp3 came out 8,49MB ...

Wave file to mp3:
Have tested a wave file too, is 14,3Mb. Converting to mp3 (320kbps) was 43seconds. Mp3 file = 3,24MB.

Hi gentlemen.

Quick question..what programmes really drain resources? I have limewire ( not for illegal purposes) but I've been told it slows your comp down. My laptop is old but was never this slow. Is there a good programme to rectify this? Or what can I delete?

All i know is that those that use java drain more resources than others that dont use it..


PS the parallel downloading of the Rapidshare Manager works for free users also?
