    There's a fucked up piece of artsy nonsense.

    No; `sacred tree` is supposedly the Mayan name of an astronomical event set for Dec 21; two galaxies or something intersecting in orbit, creating the image of a tree. Happens every 3,000 years or what not; hence the end of the calender.
