I know, but like a kid @ xmas, I get my hopes up every time... only to be disappointed

 

If I never have to survive another Chicago winter, that's okay by me. I do miss the food and the nightlife though. Tons of great bars, lots of great music, and the best grub on the planet. Hands down.

 

I am closer to the coast than her because I can hit the 17 to santa cruz in 25 minutes while it will take her a bit longer to get up to san francisco.

I guess the worst part of the storm was south of Boulder City, heading southwest - that's what the weather bulletin that interrupted King of the Hill said anyway. Typical. It rolled out over oblivion where no one lives, except tortoises, snakes and tarantulas.

I said she used to live there. Now she's over in Modesto, sweltering in the Inland Empire. She can have it to.

Everybody in my family have traveled around and lived in a dozen places or more - it's in our blood, you can say. My folks loved to travel and they took all of us on long summer vacations when we were kids, so we got to see alot of places even before leaving home. I have sisters in California, Oregon and Illinois, and a brother in Florida. The lot of us haven't all stood in the same room at the same time for 12 years now. My folks have lived here in Vegas for the past 7 or 8 years by the way, after they finally got tired of travelling after they retired. They used to have an RV and put a quarter of a million miles on it traveling all over North America - From Alaska to Yucatan, California to Nova Scocia.

Interesting life you guys live. Besides immigrating here in 1980 i haven't been to many places. On short vacations or business related issues but that is about it. Mainly just all in the west coast.
