Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     Detroit. To reach Canada from Detroit, you have to cross the Detroit river, which runs east-west at the Canadian crossing point. So you are going due south to get to Canada. You can take the Ambassador Bridge or the Windsor Tunnel. Check Mapquest. Zoom in on Detroit and the river.

    People in Detroit don't even know they're going south to get to Canada. It's kinda funny. We just take it for granted the Canada is supposed to be north of us.

    With the terrorist threats, there are all kinds of security measures in place on the water and on land. An airplane is not allowed to go over the Detroit river more than half-way, or it is in foreign air space, for example.
