One Little nice tool that i have seen being used in various situations are flashbangs they are absolutly perfect to use too immobalize a potential threat for some time. Off course it requires you too be within the right distance of the threat.

If they want to cripple the threat then shot them in the arm area. Doing it in the legs wont do it. You can still shoot a weapon even lying on the floor.

that is good they should have that standpoint, but it is a very tough situation out there many persons have opinions of a man that are in charge of a leading nation in the World. Some of these opinions are pretty sinister.

Has nothing to do with how good a shot you are. Same reason people that are shot by police are hardly ever shot only one time. Usually its 5 or more. Stop the threat the surest way. Fill that bastard up with bullets and he isnt getting any final action.

Now if we are talking about a sniper posted on a roof? Yes, I would hope they are a good enough shot to disable the person.

I suppose it depends on the conditions. If someone is close enough to the president to point a gun at him, then he would be dead. Period. Also, a flashbang in that situation would affect more than just the perpetrator. Anyone around, up to and including the president, may be affected.

 

lets just agree that its not some small task on keeping the president of USA safe from the rest of the world.

 

seems like the police are really lousy shots when it comes down to it, but they are involved in different situations where they aren't always prepared to use the weapon. But there must be a reason why not everyone works for secret service, there got to be higher standards for them. sure if the situation requires it they will shoot to kill but I don't think that is the prime directive

snipers are in a totally different league, they have scopes and more powerful weapons and if they don't get the work done in one shot they may have lost their chance for another shot

it all depends on the situation, and I'm pretty sure the agents have calculated the pros and cons in every situation (as best they could imagine) in advance.
