Zappa has introduced some of the best drummer/percussionists to the world of music. Especially vibes players. Dweezil Zappa has continued the tradition too.

Leo's lying at the window and I'm enjoying my coffee and kicking back. Nice.

 

So I assumed it warmed up since yesterday?

 

A little bit. It's nice and crisp out there. The air is fresh and cool. That'll change in a couple days though.

 

No fresh and cool air here in the valley. Warm from here until October. We do get nice breezes though, the benefit of living not too far from the ocean. In fact. It's not unlike Chicago summers, except that the warm weather lasts longer. No complaints here.

 

Western weather is more stable (or predictable) than the Midwest. The Pacific mitigates the whimsy of Arctic flows that the Midwest and east is prone to.

 

Is everyone talking about the fires out there?

 

Yes, but wild fires are status quo. I really have no sympathy for people who choose to live in fire prone regions. It's no different than living in a flood plain. "Oh really, you didn't expect that to happen?" Someone on the news was saying they rebuilt from fires 3 times. WTF? Move!

 

Yeah, I'm with you on that one!

 

I guess if you can afford the home owners insurance....

 

George Carlin did a whole bit on people like that.

One of his last gigs. He had become highly cynical about human behavior at that point (well deserved). Here he was talking about total tragedy but you couldn't help but rofl.

 

I'm listening to Joe's Garage. I listen to all genres of music but I always find myself coming back to Zappa for equilibrium. No matter what instrument you favor, Zappa's band never failed to deliver. And he covered every style of music. No one does that anymore, or since. He was fucking brilliant.

 

Zappa was the South Park of music. He tackled every topic with consummate entertainment.

 

Zappa did it all and kicked ass doing it.

 

And his lyrics killed. From Fembot In A Wet T-Shirt....
