Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     I have no wood split for the wood stove at this time....guess I will have to work on that over the next few days....

    When I have wood ready for it, I use it just about every time I need heat....the more I use it, the more $ I save on buying less natural gas. When it gets really cold, it is not sufficient by itself to keep the house in the mid 60's, but it helps even then to use less natural gas.

    I have a fire place built with the house.....a few years later I had a wood burning stove insert for the fire place installed....it is much more efficient than just the fire place.

    Exactly. I have an outside air feed pipe for my stove also, so when the stove door is shut, there is no loss of indoor heated air. I designed a few things right when I did this house. ;)

    Splitting wood is hard for me now and I don't have enough logs to justify renting a log splitter.....so I guess i will just have to plink away at it.....slowly.

    Had my ear to the street and found out it was an electrical fire in the wall of one of the bedrooms. Seems they contained it to just the one room. She said she smelled something funny from the wall. Thats pretty scary...
