    Hmm, I'm trying to think about the fallout from all of this. My guess is that the the hackers will get caught eventually and face jailtime, the 2 main messageboards behind this may be shut down (it happened to one of them before it was relaunched b/c of revenge porn) and the owners may face lawsuits from the celebs(I'm not saying those celebs will win), those that donated to those hackers involved may face charges/lawsuits, and a lot of the imagehosts will just take down the photos and the uploaders may get a warning from their ISPs.

    Anyone else have guesses?

    Rated, I'd like to hope nobody is shaming these girls. I think for the most part we're all happy about the side effect of someone invading their privacy whether we agree with it or not. As much as the short skirt analogy pisses everyone off, it's true. When I travel anywhere with my wife, we wear shitty clothes and no jewelry because we don't want to get robbed. It wouldn't be our fault that we were robbed, but in the end, you have to ask the question "Why risk it?" That's the same question I think a lot of these people are asking of these starlets...why risk it?

    I'm on board with you though, shaming the victim is not OK at all.

    Basically I agree. ScarJo's guy got ten years and a 75,000 fine. They'll get Federal time, it depends on how many there were in this alleged group and whether they hacked any other info. If the have Jenn's SSN or something like that then it may go longer. The wild card I think will be Apple. Apple has been really quiet. But if the celebs start suing Apple, and after all Apple has the money (how much will you get from the Hackers?) then stuff may get really serious. If it is a group then I think that some will get probation to roll on their fellows. If it was just one guy, and if he keeps mouthing off the way that this guy who may or may not be the hacker is doing then he might get more time and a bigger fine. Just my guess.

    It's a dead end because it is a moot point to account for people's behavior then.
