    I agree, I think those two are the kings of this and the fact that they contribute is great

    I have a question for CT ... when you do the post you have a work in progress that you call BCS only, what does that mean and thanks for doing that step as well

    BCS - Brightness/Contrast/Saturation. It's the big three of the basic X-ray, and what I use to find all the hidden details that I can further bring forth with my enhancements. This is essentially my "proof" layer that I begin with, and if I see what I'm looking for, I'll then keep working on it. I also post them for the purist X-rayers, since those tools (along with altering the Hue) are the only things I feel are pure image manipulation effect that affect the entire selected area, and don't require more than a keen eye to operate - basically anyone could do it. Even with the enhanced image, I do not use any air brushing, or anything more than colorization and basic dodge/burning to further enhance the colorization & shadowing to enhance the X-ray effect.

    If the details aren't there Ray, why are you posting what you imagine is there? This is supposed to be about what you can bring out, not what you can dream up and wish to be there and burn into existence. With the amount of good X-rayable pics out there, I don't see a reason to have to resort to faking them.

    I guess xray means well but just gets overexited to some point.
    A pixel basically contains info on color and brightness, hence these are the only infos you can manipulate.
    Since a jpg image is a compression format, it has already erased quite a bit of these color/brightness infos. So there is only that much you can do.
    It's pointless to do more 'cause that's just adding what's not there and in all pure guess work.
    C-through's tut is a fine example of how it should be done and then stop at it.

    Don't take it wrong xray it's just my opinion ;)
