Take a look at that picture, I added a couple notes, once you know where you are on the fretboard, that diagram just shows what notes are in a particular scale, E blues in this case(but you can ignore that for now if you wish) Basically if you play any of those notes it will sound ok with that backing track.

No, that site is just a cheat sheet for looking up chords and scales and such, play those notes along with the youtube vid I posted and you'll be golden, just mess around with it and you'll hear that it sounds good together.

ok so i finally found the time to sit down, start the upub and play the notes listed
it went.... slowly, i hit the wrong strings ... often...i hit the wrong notes more than the right ones
and i loved it. it was awsome
every once in a whiilei would put two or three together and thought. oh yay this is it.
its gonna take a ton of practice, but damn ive always wanted this. and now its comming round
