This paradox arises from the statement in which Epimenides, against the general sentiment of Crete, proposed that Zeus was immortal, as in the following poem:

They fashioned a tomb for thee, O holy and high one
The Cretans, always liars, evil beasts, idle bellies!
But thou art not dead: thou livest and abidest forever,
For in thee we live and move and have our being.

He was, however, unaware that, by calling all Cretens liars, he had, unintentionally, called himself one, even though what he ‘meant’ was all Cretens except himself. Thus arises the paradox that if all Cretens are liars, he is also one, & if he is a liar, then all Cretens are truthful. So, if all Cretens are truthful, then he himself is speaking the truth & if he is speaking the truth, all Cretens are liars. Thus continues the infinite regression.

so there we sat, looking at each other then back at the floor. we were scared, worried and now the reality was beginning to sink in. I think we both were trying hard to grasp our new reality. Just moments before we were different people, but now, now tis all changed. And we both were realizing mighty quick that it was never gong to be the same again. I looked back a jeff, he hand was still outstretched and shaking, the chrome 44 magnum bouncing to the rhythm so the smoke that was gently, almost gracefully, rising from the tip of the barrel bounced along, then back to the floor where i started to take inventory. I know he had a gun, were was it. Oh there under the end table, were is all the blood, i thought there would be pools of blood, but no. just a body, there in the middle of the floor, dead.

then it twitched, "ahh!" i heard jeff scream out, "he moved!" jeff said and fired another shot dead center into his chest, the clothes sort of rumpled as it went in. no other moment, no moaning, no blood, just rumple and nothing. it was all so strange, so sureal. but it had to be done. And now we were in, we were part of the gang and a member of one of the most violent motorcycle clubs in the world. I just never dreamed that I would have to kill a man to be a cop. But undercover work requires a level of believability and at this level, there was no compromise

besides, the guy was not a very nice person.

Listen, u asked me the other day if i was aware of jacks living conditions. I thought u were referring to jack tripper the character on threes company, not jack the man behind the screen name. I did not know at the time but do now have an idea of what jack is dealing with. I feel i spoke in a manner that may have been percieved as disrespectful and i apologize.

 

oh its quit alright. he is a very good natured person and i as well am very easy going. i took no offense and i do hope he did not as well. his living conditions are a thing of great interest to me, and to be honest try as i might to understand what it would be like to live in mumbie, its beyond my ability and imagination to conceive.

ive offered more than once for him to come live with me in the states, but each time he respectfully declines, i assume he fears ill try and butt rape him or worse.
but i just figure, its the least i can do to change someones life for ever. small price and all.

I liked it. Nice descriptive tecnique. I like the perspective it was told from, and it was interesting. All in all a satisfying read.

besides, i was trying for a mood and i think i missed by a little
