broadway the hardway,
one of my all time favorite cd's ive ever owned and havent heard for about 15 years easy.

just love his work on that one.

 

Slide is awesome. Have you heard Robert Randolph and the Family Band? He plays the sacred pedal steel and it's like fuckin wow!

Great album. Go back and get Tinsletown Rebellion. Probably the best version of The Torture Never Stops is on that CD. And a great cover rof Whipping Post.

 

other than that on the normal dl schedule, im at Them or us, the second release for the year of our lord 1984

some of the songs are just the old hits sung live. always nice. but not enough new stuff showing up
the boulez conducts zappa sounds like stuff clonking in a dryer.
so i dont think ill be loving that one that much.

actually just heard them the other day, i watched the 2010 crossroads festival and they played, thats got to be a hell of an instrument to learn

im sure many on here are very familiar with that scenario

Back in March during March Madness The Cosmopolitan hired him to play in the Book & Stage lounge. He did 4 nights, Thurs thru Sun, absolutely free to the public. In fact the lounge is right on the main aisle that leads through the casino. I couldn't fuckin' believe it! I went and listened to him play all 4 nights. He also plays regular guitar, keyboards and drums. Talented guy.

that could be one of the best things about vegas, there are bound to be good musicians every night that you can listen to for free, not like around here where you have to hunt down a place with a real band and then they are usually awful

 

True. Coming across him like that was a real treat. They've had other good bands in that lounge but not usually of his caliber. Other places are hit and miss but there is some hot talent out there to be found.
