    A couple days ago I got to talking with a homeless guy who was dumpster diving in our trailer park. Nice guy, I've talked with him several times and occasionally given him stuff. He had his camp under an overpass in a drainage canal that parallels the park, an ungainly looking structure if I ever saw one.

    Anyway, we were talking about karma and he told me he didn't mind when something bad happened to him because it meant something good would follow. Well last night his camp caught fire. I happened upon the scene after all was said and done, nothing left of it but charred ruins and murky puddles. When I asked one of the firemen if the homeless guy was okay, he just shook his head and said, I'm afraid not and pointed at the coroner's van that was just leaving the scene.

    Ironic.

    I hope the next good thing to happen to that guy is he winds up in heaven.
