well figured i give you the idea anyway, not much here, but the first coat of finish on my guitar a little while ago, should turn out pretty nice

just wondering what shape is it, does it have a les paul cut,
how are you giong to make it sound strat if its a solid body, just use special pickups?

 

i should ask, a strat is hollow bodied right?

 

im pretty sure most led pauls and strats are solid, the one i built is solid, ill post a pic in just a sec of what it looked like pre finish

 

yea i just youtubed it thinking i could find a video of someone playing one, and i saw a bunch of people holding what looks like a fairly traditional electric piece. so im betting im way off base. i really thought they were hollow bodied, but guess not eh?

some are chambered, where they take out most of the wood, lightens it up and i guess it gives it more sustain, ive never played one so i dont know

chambered looks like this before they add the laminate top, after you can only tell by the weight

 

i would wonder now if you cold hear a difference in the resonate on the body
one would have to sound a bit different wouldnt it
gosh that looks neat all taken apart, i love to see how stuff is made.

 

thats it, im finishing it with just clear polyurethane, i like the walnut grain

it will have 2 humbuckers and the neck is the same wood as a les paul, and walnut is supposed to have a warm tone like mahogany, so hopefully ill have the comfort of a strat with the sound of a les paul

 

it probably does, i would imagine it would sound more like a hollowbody, i think the weight reduction would be the nicest thing though, although if you dropped it it might shatter
