this night finds me back in the cell deep in the basement of the monastery. i can hear the monks singing this nights prayer. its an amazing thing to listen to. the sound echoes down the granite halls in the darkness entertaining the candles that cast a shimmer of light to guide our way. The cold damp air is a constant, my bedding is always damp and chilly when i lie down to slumber. Tonight the sleep will be very welcome, its been a long weekend working with some of the monks to prepare the equipment for spring planting. They use only rudimentary tools, no gasoline found here. everything ox powered. I thought it odd, they are willing to use a single row steel plow, which prompted the question, "why stop here.? you have accepted steel why not have the steel take gas and use a tractor." they explained "it was gods way.".

so i suppose that makes this thing a god damned tractor.

 

I'll take the tractor any day. BTW, I've driven one of those big motherfuckers. ^^^

 

never had the chance. always wondered what i was like.

how pissed would this make them
there they are, pulling the first furrow with the oxen, the plow lugging through the dark soil effortlessly as there feet dig in with each powerful step.

they stop for a moment and look up as the green john deere pulling a 10 row plow and a disk set on the back rolls past.

then much to their dismay the rig slowly eases through the ditch and into there field. lines itself up at the head of the end rows and begins to plows. the earth falling effortlessly to the side as the tractor eases its way down the first run. Row by row the tractor relentlessly turns their dirt, each pass eating another 10 rows of there small field, within a half hour the tractor meets the ox now only just starting its 5th row, and with a quick toot to the horn, the ox and plow step aside and the tractor eases past.
its dark tinted windows hiding the identity of the operator.

Then the kit eases back through the ditch, onto the road and is off in the same direction it was heading before. there stands our man all oxed up and nothing to plow.

funny to me. i would do it.

 

i have been driving in my jeep and seen someone shoveling there drive, i pull up, drop the plow and back drag there drive,. within a couple of passes the thing is clean. then honk and drive off. makes me feel good, but i always wonder if every once in a while someone goes in the house
fucking asshole i was really looking forward to shoveling that too.
