    Let's parse this sentence.

    First, let's define tendentious: adj; marked by a tendency in favor of a particular point of view : biased
    ? ten?den?tious?ly adverb
    ? ten?den?tious?ness noun

    I'm most interested in the second clause (underlined). The use of the word tendentious is misused here because it suggests favor toward a subject as opposed to disfavor, which is what the poster was actually trying to convey (you'll have to take my word on that).

    My question is this: While in the heat of a debate does it show proper decorum to point out the grammatical and contextual errors made by your opponent, even if you understand the spirit of what they are saying?
