just some suggestions to ensure the voting is as "pure" as possible and that people's votes aren't influenced by anything other than their own opinions

1) have people use the same image host to upload their sigs so it can't be used to try to identify the sig author
2) use the poll feature for voting so people can't see who others voted for (i know this is being worked but even if it can only accomodate 10 entrys, use it and come up with a way to select the 10)
3) have people withhold commenting on who/why they voted until after the results are posted

if a respected sig maker comments on the sigs, points out flaws in some of them, and gives reasons for voting for the one they like, isn't there a chance it could be influencing some of the votes?

if someone wants to vote because it's their favorite villain or because the sig made them laugh, even if it's technically not a good sig, they should be able to (without others commenting on their choice) because picking the subject should be part of the contest. otherwise you should have 2 contests, one for professional photoshop users and one for the rest of us amatuers.

Hopefully we can get the 30 options poll running soon so the same numbers don't keep popping up through the thread too.

This week might be the best yet. I picked mine but at least five others were easily good enough to get my vote.

I still think people should be able to tell why they voted for a sig, even before voting ends.
I'm not gonna vote for a sig because someone else did too, I'm not influenced by that and nobody should be influenced by that.

 

you're right, nobody should be influenced, but some will be.

it's human nature if someone more knowledgeable on a subject (i.e. photoshop technical skills) speaks out. and it could be seen as lobbying for your favorite.

waiting would eliminate any possibility for bias.

I know, I know I ask a lot of questions...

I understand the bands part. I just want to make sure I understand the artists part. Is it all related to music only, musical artists?

 

Yeah, Musical artists only Aust. The reason I said band/artist is it can be a single person as well as a group.

 

Congratulations Innu I was describing your work this week to a friend and the only way i could say it was that it was like a dracula comic cover, only without the cheese.

And to everyone else also as this week was excellent. I swore that Innu's one was toolz. And toolz actual one one was my number two choice, then Sids.
