Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    I totally understand your point of view and I'd be fine if we banned animated sigs. I pretty much chose to do one because I couldn't find any great stills to use. What are other peoples thoughts on the use of gifs?

    but I just write & enforce the rules, everyone decides on them.

    About animated GIFs, I think we should either a) have an animated theme (either allow or ban animation a weekly basis)
    or b) have a separate vote for animation vs static.
