    Desaturated everything but green and added a levels layer to adjust brightness/contrast/details.

    Nice job on the selective color.

    Just one note on the contrast. Better use the curves adjustment to enhance the contrast.

    Did this one from your image [​IMG] to this [​IMG]

    Just a basic contrast boost using curves in the LAB color space.
    Works great in LAB 'cause the LAB color gamut is wider than the RGB's and almost as close as the color gamut of the human eye.
    Plus steepening curves in the "a" and "b" channel (LAB mode) enhances contrast without affecting the lightness 'cause in LAB that's a seperate channel.
    Convert image from RGB to LAB mode
    ... in the "a" channel clip the full quartertone (shadows) and the full 3/4 tone (highlights)
    ... in the "b" channel clip half the quartertone and half the 3/4 tone.

    Hope it makes a little bit of sense. ;)

    I saw "LAB" (6x) and blah, blah...

    (jokin') ;)

    Generally I simply use a combination of level and brightness/contrast in Elements to tweak the B&W - and sometimes I'll run it through OptikVerve virtual photographer enhancement filters.

    Don't wan't to drag this on but just for the sake of argument I did a proof-setup comparing various "enhancements".


    source [​IMG] [​IMG] B/C adjustment in RGB ... green still flooded with yellows and lost quite some detail in the face and lower rocks (shadows zone)

    source [​IMG] [​IMG] boosting contrast using curves in RGB ... no real improvement to the upper method

    source [​IMG] [​IMG] boosting contrast using curves in LAB ... no more yellows but deep, rich green ... kept details in face and lower rocks

    You don't really need a photographer's eye to see the difference, do you?
    Besides, twas only a constructive suggestion on a great way of boosting contrast ;)

    Well put.

    One question though... I went back to see what could be done by using LAB/curves on the source picture (rather than the one I had already adjusted levels on). When switching to from RGB to LAB the hue/saturation level is deleted. Then, when desaturating the yellow (in LAB), the green disappears. Leaving the yellow leaves the flesh-tones under the cloth. Any thoughts?
