Well, the one thing about The Pacific that's pretty neat is how they show what's going happening on the homefront. Also, while "Band of Brothers" shows off what can be called the glorious noble struggle of war, The Pacific is a little darker; often after watching a crazy action sequence and seeing the consequences (i.e. the TONS of bodies, both US and Japanese), you may find yourself asking "damn, was all this killing really necessary?".

I've read some places that there are some serious military buffs put-off by the "lack of detail" in some of the scenes - I find these nitpicky criticisms and don't distract me, a casual observer, from not only enjoying the overall cinematic art of the series so far, but also the emotion conveyed by some good performances. It's definitely worth checking out for sure.

One last thing; won't ruin it by revealing it - I think you'll find the initial assault on Guadalcanal pretty ironically entertaining. You see all these marines getting transported on those landing vehicles, and the scene is building up on the tension on what's about to happen on the beach as they land... the doors open and... well, you'll have to see it to enjoy it.

Oh, and also after seeing the actions of John Basilone that awarded him the Medal of Honor, I won't be surprised to see a bunch of "John Basilone" handles in Modern Warfare 2.
