    Back...what a pain in the ass! My knees will be sore tomorrow.....hate having to get on them, but had to crawl under desk counter to get to power outlets, etc. And, not to mention, $200 lighter. :shock:

    My UPS (uninterpretable power supply and surge protection device). The one that died earlier was over 6 years old....and I get rather big ones....780 watts and 2.5 hours of run time on battery.

    I think the old lead/acid battery finally died.....but the entire unit just shut down....after I let it charge for an hour, I was able to get back on here to let you guys know why I disappeared, but the alarm on it was screaming the entire time.

    I have the PC, monitor, wireless router and modem connected for surge protection and battery power backup, and the scanner & laser printer connected just for surge protection. The UPS is probably larger than I need (not the biggest you can get), but I consider it insurance. We lost power this afternoon for about 15 minutes and I had plenty of time to finish up what I was working on and safely shut down. The replacement is a little bigger than the older one and I don't think the new one uses lead/acid batteries as it is lighter than the older one and charged fully in only ten minutes.
