I've been talking with Lisa.

still working on trust issues. she has to learn to trust me.

I still am not sure what to do with her.

Sounds like she's paranoid that the relationship will be destroyed by you, or your family, or your friends.

 

Considering what happened, that should be low on her worry-list.

I have told her that I am still with her despite what happened.

she has to trust me.

 

she is 24 years old.

12 years younger than me.

 

If you had done that to her, would you expect her to come running to you afterward?

Your mom forgave her because your mom is a good lady. You may never know exactly what your mom is thinking.

 

But your mom acted as a peace conduit for the two families.

 

I have been through family violence too. when I was 8, my Bro was 7. my Dad was drunk once, he beat my Mom so bad she wound up in the Hospital. within a few inches of her life, I remember crying holding my Brother hearing my Dad saying "I could put this screwdriver through your head"

I am still scared of that.

but I would still never hurt Lisa like that.

my Dad stopped drinking after that. but it still scares me.

she told me "she remembers me walking around looking for the phone, she saw me collapse, she saw all the blood then held my arm and chest, called for the abulance then held my chest til they arrived"
