    yes it is okay to shoot them with a rifle on the ground Thore. I got to know my Friends 17 calibre so well last year I had a swan in my sights as it sat, I had to adjust my position and when I looked back it was gone, I looked up and they were flying about 120 yards away, I aimed at it and shot, it dropped!

    it was set for 100 yards, another time a goose was about 200 yards away, I aimed up and over to compensate for the wind, I hit it@
