    Don't know how they got their name....they are large birds....3 to 4 feet tall, white with something red on either their neck or head. Wing span about 1.5 times their height. And loud! :lol:

    Those are the sandhills near me then. I have been to those sandhills. The name is a rather accurate description of them. We were hunting for a very rare orchid to view. I don't think we found one.

    I am trying to decide if I want to trim some more today.....yesterday I did the bigger clipping with the large loupers......next is the shaping with the power clippers. It does a good quick job, but is hard on my lower back....:?

    must have been about 10 give or take 5 years since I replaced the one downstairs. the one upstairs were/are leaking water due to a cracked water reservoir, so I had to disconnect it a few years ago
