tell me about it we have a site here with tons of computers anywhere from 399 $ up 3000 $ and that is only various models of laptops.

Not really T1 . I dont play games anymore so a graphicscard isnt my mainfocus this time around i want a good workstation that does multitasking.

Lots can be blamed on the fact that i have tons of useless stuff i dont even use or need on my current one. Probably 100 trojans aswell.

Thanks Flippy. The words are taken from "Believe" by Yellowcard. The first time I heard the song was actually 9/11/03, and it was one of the first songs to literally bring me to tears.

IDK if Merlin got hit by Irene, but I felt it. It SUCKED. And was wet.

 

i cant really say that i prefer a laptop over a stationary computer but sure you get use to the mobility. But im keeping my options open. All i know is that this time around im not pushing 5 million stuff in it just because i can.

 

yeah i can imagine. I was just curious since i recall hearing on the news it hit the Carolina states on its path north and Merlin has written Coastal Carolina on his location.

 

I'm sure he felt it. I'm in NY (NOT NYC. I'm 8 1/2 hours north, on the Canadian border) and I felt it. It wreaked havoc on our state capitol of Albany, which is in the damn center of the state!

got to choose a rather decent gfxcard though. Videos and other online shit demands more and more of computers these days so thinking ahead in the future isn't such a bad idea,

 

a stationary is always more powerful, and it's much easier to replace stuff in... but it's a shitload of work to carry around..

 

i still watch movies that i download in the weekends so sure some ssort of graphics card would be prefered. But i cant make out any difference between HP, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, and Fujitsu. I have even seen Samsung now have no clue if they are any good yet. Im on a Toshiba now it runs smoothly but you know how it is guys after a couple of years you want something fresher.

 

Desktops are much more convenient in every way, except portability. I love my desktop. Currently rockin' an AMD Phenom 3.0Ghz quadcore, Nvidia 9800GT, 8GB of OCZ DDR2 RAM, all wrapped up in an Antec 902. Looking to upgrade my videocard though.

 

Sadly, my laptop is nearly as powerful: Intel i7 quadcore (2.0GHz), Nvidia GT 540M, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB hdd.

Oh, forgot to mention: My desktop has a 2TB harddrive, a 1TB, a 250GB, and 2 500GB (one is external, one is the system drive)

 

im just kind of curious if i should go for the electrical shops downtown or search around on the net on more specialised shops. It really looks like i can get pretty darn good equipment for almost the same price as in the local shops.
