Imagevenue

This news sucks.

Imagevenue was the only site i really liked when uploading stuff for Phun.

 

People,
Internet Explorer SUXS because most trojan virus,activex,malaware or other scripts have been written to access Windows system through internet Explorer and because it is tightly integrated with Windows system it is relatively easy to enter and replace or overwrite other system files in the root directory It is the most direct way to attack system files unless you using Linux.
So if you don't want to have trojan viruses the best way is to choose an independent browser such as Firefox or Opera and choose options and or extensions of your liking.
Or better still have a USB stick and load portable firefox or opera to access suspecious websites.

 

Ya'll sell KMF short. I can still go back and pull up pictures that I may have posted 1-2 years ago with KMF. All tucked nicely into a little folder (well in my case a BIIIIG folder, 9338 pages of images at 15 images per page :?)

plus zip uploading, large file hosting (yes you can host vids on KMF too).etc...

 

Imagevenue is not bad if you do like ive written above, see here my screens.

Then uploaded the caps to imagehaven (just done that, if you didnt like a imagevenue link).

Below in the status bar, on the right, you'll see the text "Website with restricted acces" (if you done it correct like ive written above)



Nothing can install, or open, pc is safe.

 

If a user is too stupid to figure out that the pop-up may install unwanted software, then they deserve such invasive software on their computers. Seriously, a lot of the complainers sound like my grandmother - basically zero knowledge about computers, the internet, or pop-ups.

The worse are those that click on "cancel" in the pop-up window asking them to check for viruses, etc... because they think it's a system message not knowing it's just some stupid pop-up that they can "X" out!

 

I did use it and it always converted jpg to gif and that is what i don't want or like.

 

KMF itself doesn't convert them to gif......must be in your settings. The thumbs are gif, but the images are still jpg.

 

Forget KMF it is javascrypted and each page has two hidden iframes elements for adbrite.com
Adbrite.com is normally banned in add blocking programs, listed as one of the worst privacy offenders.

 

I wans't sure where to put this, but i uploaded a program that makes it easier to see and download the full-sized Imagevenue photos from thumbs, without having to be directed their site, which at the moment seems to be plagued with malware.

Even though I don't use IE, you gave me the initiative to see if I could do the same thing in Opera, and as you would think, it can be done there as well.

I think this will put my mind at ease for the moment.

Maybe you know this already: Opera is tested, and got the best results on crashing (standards), etc, its has stand more then the others. (have not found the document were i had see this on).

I have also seen very detailed explanations of why it is currently the best browser out there now(apparently you had to pay to use it before, but now it is free).

It is also the innovator, and that most of the features other browers use were developed by Opera.

I don't feel too preachy about it right now; maybe later I'll try to see if i can recruit people to the safety, security, size, style, system and simplicity of Opera. :mrgreen:

Anyone has enough time to read, here below on a site a freeware and help about this such things, etc. Need to read the info on there, "spybot search and destroy" do also add a site list to the options for internet (see this info there too).
