    Should the amateur section always be amateur girls with amateurish photographers? Or do we allow content of models that are with agencies, photographed by amateur photographers? :confused:

    I think once you allow professional photographers' work into the section it defeats the purpose of it being in the amateur section. Quality of photos is a factor. :2cent:

    I suspect this has been discussed ad nauseam before!

    Celebrities are always celebrities whether they're shot by studio photographers, paparrazzi, or fans (amateurs) - or even if they take selfies! The same can be said, but perhaps to a lesser degree, about pro models, some of whom have been known to attend events where amateur photographers have a go, and some take selfies for forums!!

    The amateur sphere is nowhere near as clear-cut. Modestly priced camera equipment can produce impressive results by amateurs, and at the other side of the dividing line there are professional photographers and studios producing work for the amateur market. There are also professional photographers doing street candids and beach shots, for example, where regardless of the high quality of the work there can still be little doubt about the amateur status of the targets. And professional photographers do take portfolio photo-sets of wannabe models, few of whom actually succeed in breaking into the business.

    So just enjoy any better quality amateur material that you come across, because there's no easy way to differentiate a professional photographer's work from that of an amateur with a good camera, especially when those same amateurs are trying to look professional; and whilst some professionals are actually faking amateur material, some are producing perfectly legitimate images of amateurs!

    Thanks. I suppose so.. it's like the old sotw discussion thread, only changing once a month.

    but there are no big thing just yet, if there's an issue with that particular thread I can still create a new thread instead when it starts for real at the end of this month. Was thinking of have it last until the end of the year to just test to see if the interest would increase a bit when it's just once a month instead of every week.
