  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Same here, no timeouts! However I can add oen tidbit: it said in FF 25 that it would load trw12.[something...] as well after I typed in forum.phun.org and hit Enter.

    But all seems to be well again now.

    I didn't notice it, but I have a pretty good guess of what happened.

    trw12.com is an advertiser Phun is using. The JavaScript file for the ads is loaded in the "head" of the page (meta data before content) in a way that it blocks all content after that from loading until that JS file has downloaded and executed. So, my guess is that the ad company's server was particularly slow for a while.

    As for stopping it, and I hate to say this because I know Phun needs money to operate, you could start blocking ads with a browser extension of some kind.

    If you want to discuss further, there's the Phun Tech Issues thread for Phun-specific issues or the Tech Issues thread for general things like ad-blocking. Or, wherever, I just don't want to bother mods monitoring this thread for new issues with all the details of this.

    No, that's mostly likely not going to happen.......however you can add tags to those threads yourself......or if it has a misleading thread title you can post it here and we will edit the title.
