  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Loving the After Effects stuff Helium. I tried messing with it myself but found it a bit of a head fuck. I got too many other things to learn right now but I'm definitely gonna give it another shot some time.

    I've opened gifs in fireworks, ulead and photoshop and couldn't even figure out where to go! In photoshop the gif dpesn't even have layers.

    Just drag the gif in photoshop and it will gif you all the layers (frames), you need to open the animation screen to see how it will work as gif

    Btw I use adobe suite CS3 and ulead. Those are the tools i have, not sure if those make a difference as they might be outdated by now.

    for cs3:
    Choose File > Import > Video Frames to Layers
    In the file browser in Windows, type *.* in the File Name and press Enter or click Load.
