The only thing I can say is this: All of them look like thei're just pics cut/resized to sig size and some text added. Try using some effects, filters, etc. A signature has to blast from your screen imho, grab people's attention.

 

Bio...it is obvious that he is learning how to format. Try being a little more constructive with your criticism. Learning is part of what this thread is about.

There is nothing wrong with a 'cut and resize plus text' if that particular image means a lot to you and the text suits.

I've done quite a few where they are as basic as that, maybe even more basic....and they got voted for by someone for sig of the year.

 

This was one big learning curve but a lot of fun. I hope you all enjoy!

Thanks for all the comments, I hope I can pick up some tricks from you guys. I am basic with the photo edit part of this, I'm learning more now from you guys. Any input will be helpful. Thanks again Phun community, just trying not to be dependent. From what I seen its been a begging scene to get signs made. I rather you show me how to do it instead of me asking to get one done. For any new sig makers, the best thing to do is what you think is right. Yes I'd say it's great to take tips from the more established artists, but there's no right or wrong. People may have there opinions on your work but as long as you like it, who gives a fuck? Some of the best sigs to appear on this great site are simple, but it takes a creative mind to choose the right pic to fit etc. Drunken early morning rant over.

Man you guys are small minded. If someone asks for opinions on a few sigs he made, then he can expect some of the replies to be positive, but some could also be negative. That doesn't mean that I'm shooting him down or anything, I'm just posting MY opinion on his work.

Saying "Hey man, you did a good job. keep it up!" doesn't help him at all. He posts here to get tips. I gave him some.

In no way was I directing any of that at you. As you say, he asked for tips and you provided them. I was just making a general point. I gotta agree with Toolz though, nothing wrong with giving encouragement whether you think someone's sig is crap or not. I've seen a lot of people improve a lot through practice and encouragement.

People who need to use foul words or call people names are small minded. Freedom of speech is still far away it seems. Giving your opinion isn't appreciated even when someone asks for your opinion.

It also seems to me that the only people I offended are the people that have nothing to do with the whole thing. I don't see any complaints from Trigon73 himself. Maybe he respects my opinion.

Now back to posting sigs.... Oh and if the sigs I post here need any improvement PLEASE tell me. That's why I post them here.

Hey guys, speaking of encouragement but more of help, I'm having trouble putting a few together. I've got my subject, about four different pics. I don't want to make it cluttered, but not a one pic add text sig. (nothing wrong with that, but I want to at least give something more complex a shot..) This is what I've done so far. Suggestions? Should I post the pics I have and see what you all can come up with? I have ideas, but they turn out too clutered, too basic, or I'm not enough of a photoshop guru to get them to blend smooth.. Anyway, first completed one. Thanks --Chum
