    I think we should have a sing-song, guys, to keep our spirits up while Sophie is sleeping it off! I suspect that anybody nearby that has a banana and a bottle of diet coke handy will be a friend for life! ;)

    Morning, what it's Jan 2nd already?

    Yesterday flew by & we fairly hangover free, I think I mentioned I wasn't going home on the Underground after what happened last year, (guy wouldn't leave us alone when we were going home about 3am, to cut a long story short he wanted to pay us to hit him, apparently he got off on it), saw the fireworks on tv/laptop & across the rooftops at the same time (very Mary Poppins).

    I think I got to bed where I was about 3:30am.

    I woke up at 8:30am, I'd booked a taxi for 9:30am, it was actually there on time and got home & watched the brilliant concert from Vienna on tv (I do it every year) while drinking bucks fizz & a huge fry up breakfast (my mate is brilliant at cooking).

    After that in the early afternoon went for walk along the River Thames at Battersea, then had a coffee, then we home to watch "Where Eagles Dare", (Clint Eastwood & his endless ammo) then we went out for a meal tonight & that ended Jan 1st.

    So was yours?

    Thankfully New Years was banana free, after all i trained for it over 2018

    I had a family gathering on New Year's Eve at lunchtime, which was nice, but we broke up about 8 pm to each go our own way and do our own thing.
    Since I'd promoted The Graham Norton Show I felt I ought to watch it, so I saw Keira do her party piece!

    I subsequently watched the London Eye fireworks on TV, which were visually stunning, as usual, but the effect was slightly offset by the thunderous crashes and flashes of the fireworks in my immediate vicinity! I then settled down to watch "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" on DVD yet again - I love Keira, but I think Emily Blunt is a serious contender - love the one you're with? Then sleep.

    Did very little on the 1st, but did speak to a neighbour who mentioned that he too had watched the Vienna Concert as usual, but was somewhat disappointed on this occasion, although I couldn't establish precisely why. Another neighbour, a rather charming and attractive lady, came round to ask if a visiting relative of hers could park temporarily in my parking bay, which of course I OK'd - and received a very acceptable peck on my cheek! She smelt lovely!

    Today my attached neighbours' promised work on their central heating system, bathroom and downstairs loo appears to have started - they're holidaying in Thailand, somewhere near Phuket!

    Happy New Year!!! I'd forgotten about Keira on GN, thanks, will see it today!

    It was weird we could see the fireworks on TV, but also see them in the distance through the window.

    Personally i think the London Fireworks seriously rivalled Sydney for the best NYE fireworks in the World.
    Sydney btw had a display for 15 minutes before anyone noticed wishing everyone... Happy New Year 2018!!!

    I've been told by my Sister (feels good to say that) that i've watched the Vienna New Years Day Concert since i was 4 and i used
    to dance around the house to it, they (on BBC2) only used to show only part two of the concert, now they show the whole thing
    with a screen time of 2.5 hours +, they have a 30 minute interval (with the dancers) that killed the pace, (but was useful to go do stuff).

    Part one has more obscure works.
    Plus t didn't help that this years Conductor had his personality removed over Christmas compared to previous years.

    Previous years they'd have encores, this guy just ended.

    There i've written about a Classic concert, see how cultured i am.

    Its funny when i meet people who've met Celebs, i ask them what did they smell like?
    Keira smelt lovely!

    Thailand attacked my hair when i was there.

    I went out to Waitrose this afternoon, plus the posh branch of TK Maxx (TJ Maxx in the US), called HomeSense, and it was as if Christmas and New Year simply hadn't happened!

    I didn't go up to her neck & sniff her, but my friend was in a play she was in and I met her very briefly.
