Only recently a dog rescue programme on UK TV mentioned that black dogs are always difficult to re-home because of the "bad Press" that they've received over the years!
It's very difficult to dispel that sort of prejudice and superstition. :(

Some bigwig in marketing in recent years suggested that it was a primary business mistake to over-estimate the intelligence of the average TV viewer, who, statistical evidence suggested, was ignorant, prejudiced and superstitious! This was in spite of the reported ever-improving SATS, GCSE, A-Level and University Degree results! Morons are alive and kicking, it seems! Apologies for my politically incorrect reporting of such a view!

    Pavlov's Dogs.

Had day off yesterday, felt crap/ill, much better today.

Much better & i'm going to Oktoberfest on Saturday.
This year i know which side i'll tie my apron/Dirndl on for Oktoberfest.
I tied it on the left side last year and that is a signal meaning i'm single and ready to mingle.
Which made for a interesting day...

    Meanwhile
    https://www.eonline.com/news/977477...-her-daughter-from-seeing-these-disney-movies
Keira Knightley Bans Her Daughter From Seeing These Disney Movies.
"Cinderella, released in 1950, is "banned," Knightley said, "because she waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Don't! Rescue yourself. Obviously!
And this is the one that I'm quite annoyed about because I really like the film, but Little Mermaid [is banned, too].
I mean, the songs are great, but do not give your voice up for a man. Hello! But the problem with The Little Mermaid is I love The Little Mermaid!
    That one's a little tricky—but I'm keeping to it."

I love Keira Knightley to bits, met her once she was lovely & yes i would.
But banning her daughter from seeing "Cinderella" & "Little Mermaid", no!!!!

If i had a daughter i'd let her see them, the only thing i'd ban is obvious stuff like Hostel & similar genres.
(Why do i say that i have a friend who let her 10 yr old see that), but i'd watch Cinderella with her and explain things in context.
That was the way it was in the olden days, that its a fairy tale, that in the real world you can do it for yourself and not depend on
anybody to do it for you, but banning them and cutting it out of their childhood, no!

When i was little (and a few years back, but that's another story) but i used to dress up as Cinderella & Snow White and wear them all Summer
until they were nearly falling apart, i wasn't the Damsel waiting to be rescued by a Prince (but i wouldn't of minded another Princess), i'd spend
the days going up and down trees (not easy as i have a funny knee and i'd get stuck up there, but i trained myself to get down with my good knee)
i'd watch Cinderella and then go out in the garden and dig holes, (i had a thing about digging holes, i wanted to get back to Australia) but to get back
to my original point, watch the movies with your child, explain to them and put the film in context, don't cut it out of their life.

Nearly there now, there's food as well, not just beer all day:)

We're on a taxi there now.

My gf got me a gift of a Oktoberfest VIP Package and my mates have joined in:)

    For that we get
A reserved seat in the vip area, priority VIP entrance and toilets.
(Drinks) 1 glass of German sparkling wine, 2 x 1 Mass (1.5 pint) Bavarian FestBeer, 1 Underberg shot
(Food) Welcome Bavarian snack plate, German premium Schnitzel with Bavarian potato salad

Plus no queues for toilets like last year:)

Other news i'm going to see Maisie Williams in her stage debut "I and You" at the Hampstead Theatre.

    True:)

Remember once went to play called "The Leisure Society", in a really intimate as in really small venue.
Had the model turned actor Agyness Deyn in it.

I was sitting in the front row, she was seated on a couch about 5ft away from me.
She was seated there (dressed) with legs open and looking straight at me had the line.

"Do you want to fuck me?".
I very nearly said out loud... yes

    Meanwhile
Oktoberfest was so brilliant, beer, loads of beer & food, then onto to friends flat and party and then this morning
we all went out to breakfast at a greasy spoon aka old school cafe.

Then walk in park, such a beautiful autumnal day, sunny, bit chilly, really love this weather.

We're now watching S3 of Daredevil, now onto ep 2, then later new Doctor Who!

I would have paid good money just to see the look on your face when the actress said "Do you want to fuck me?" I can picture you sitting there, slack-jawed and muttering under your breath "bloody hell! you bet!" [IMG]

Sounds like you're have a wonderful time at Oktoberfest! Outstanding! :beerchug:

My lovely gf found these production pics, the aforementioned couch is there and you can see the distance from the front row and the couch.

It must be pretty daunting performing so close to your audience! Theatre in the round is one thing, but having your audience virtually invading your personal space must take a bit of getting used to! The audience must in effect be included in the atmosphere, be part of the gathering?

I recall going with my wife to a stage performance of "Oh, what a lovely war!", and because of parking problems we arrived about a minute after the curtain had gone up, but were encouraged to make our way to our seats on the front row of the Dress Circle!
Having to squeeze past the knees and legs 0f several couples was awkward and embarrassing enough, but then the chap on stage who was addressing the audience in a "showman" style spoke to us directly, and suddenly all eyes were on us and temporarily we were part of the performance! I subsequently learnt from someone in the know that the inevitable late comers to live theatre were regularly included in this fashion as part of that theatrical production.
