I wonder if I could find this show on American TV... it sounds like something I'd really enjoy. And while I know it's not the same, I do own the entire collected works of Shakespeare in 8 volumes (my mother's prized possession, which survived the raising of 8 children) printed in 1901, making the set 117 years old. I took a pic to share:

I so love that!!! Thank you for sharing!

I thought "Upstart Crow" might be on BBC America, but it seems like its only available in the States via Amazon Video & iTunes.

You're quite welcome. I've been a fan since I was a kid. I won a speech contest in grade school by by reciting the entirety of Hamlet's soliloquy from Act 3, Scene 1... I was a nerd long before computers...

Brilliant! It so happens that I have an Amazon Prime account! I'll have to ferret that out.

    Thanks Soph!

Alas, 'tis madness I'd thought! I might alas be comprehended as a weirdling for taking "Upstart Crow" to my bosom, thus I'm uplifted and charmed mightily to heed others thus afflicted.

I do! You needn't be impressed however, most of my writing was for magazines and newspapers; stories extolling the virtues of one client or other and the products/services they produced. There were non-profits here and there, those stories were my best. But all-in-all, I was your garden variety hack...

I'm happy you appreciate the book though.... not too many book lovers out anymore. It's always nice to bump into one! :D

Books are amongst my most prized possessions, and that collection of Shakespeare's works is my most beloved. It was the one thing my mother left me when she passed.

If I remember it, I may have to post a couple of pics of my personal library... at least that of it that has found shelf space... never enough shelves, or walls to mount them on.

Talking of new drama, really looking forward to these.

Amazon Prime is releasing The Man In The High Castle S3 on Friday October 5
Loved the first two series, seems like there's been the longest wait since S2.

Netflix The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina released on October 26th

If you have any other recommendations please let me know, i need some binge material.

If you haven't seen the new BBC Drama "Bodyguard".
I highly recommend it, if you can get your hands on it, if you can't it's been sold to Netflix and is available from Oct 24th.

If you haven't seen "Killing Eve", i so recommend it!!!

Nothing wrong with being a hack, it's what you use your talents for.

When i was little i found one of my Late Dad's Video tapes, it was "Lou Grant" and i watched that over and over for years.

I love bookshops, i'd spend all day there and o.d on coffee in the process.
But give me a old bookshop and i'd be there for weeks
I used to love the bookshops around the Boulevard Saint-Michel in Paris.

Okay, that's it... now I'm just jealous...

The London Inn sounds amazing... I hope the food lives up to the name.

As for the flu shot, why not just skip it? I've never had one in my life (not for lack of people trying to convince me otherwise), and I've had the flu maybe 3 times in my 64 years.

Of course, nearly dying from an epidemic in 59 might have had something to do with that.

I do have 1 recommendation, the show Mindhunter on Netflix was absolutely outstanding IMHO. It was certainly the best new show by them for me. Sadly, there won't be much binging to be had... season 1 is all there is for now. There will be a season 2, it's just not going to be all that soon.

I've heard of the Bodyguard, but I don't know anything about it. However, it's now on my list of shows to check out.

As for Killing Eve, I can't wait for the next season!!! The best new show I've seen in years! The damn thing is positively addictive!
