London is currently 29c at 9:19am, just been up on the roof at work, the breeze is warm (and air not that clean).
I'm glad I'm not working tomorrow.

Its meant to get up to 35-37c, buildings here are not designed for that.
    [IMG] [IMG]
Now, where would I like to be? In the Sea with Maisie (Sounds like a Disney song).

Woke up this morning with the Mother of World Cup Hangover's, I went into my little local greengrocers (on the way to the Underground).
The Man behind the counter has some bananas and diet coke waiting for me, he said: "I thought you'd need these".

It's like an oven on the Underground, sadly there's only so much you can do to retro-fit 19th Century tunnel's/designs.
    Thanks!

    Last Night:
Norway, well their coach made the mistake of not rotating the Team over the Tournament, its been virtually the same line-up
from the first game, unlike England where the Coach has given the team Game experience.

It was brilliant, we won, 3-0!!! but we made mistakes, lost our concentration and were lucky.
(The Captain saved us from at least 2 Norwegian Goal attempts) if that happens against France or the USA
we will get punished for it.

Really looking forward to tonight, USA vs France (goodbye liver) on the big screen.
Neither team has been really challenged, only in their Game where the USA remotely
challenged by Spain. When Spain did score it was interesting to see how the USA reacted.
For at least 20 minutes Spain was running rings around them, plus the USA didn't score
against Spain, their goals were penalties as a result of mistakes by Spain.

Tonight it's going to 45c in Paris, this is going to be challenging.
Had my fair share of them, but you wouldn't be very popular with the rest of the team if you enjoyed Goal celebrations
for anything other than celebrating a Goal, it would be like "Here she is trying to cop a feel again".
Which Season are you on 2? Yes, she is annoying in it, but she's meant to be annoying as its part of a bigger story arc.
If its S3, please get back to it, I'm up to Ep10 and its excellent.

    There's an idea:shower:

Yeesh, it's been getting humid here too. Guess we'll see which teams are in the best condition now.

Awww, but look at them. So happy and pretty and athletic and sweaty:drool:

.... What were we talking about again:cool: I can't be the only one here with those thoughts. Hmph, fine, be professional I suppose, save the feeling part for a championship celebration, sound better? :D maybe it's just me being a guy lol.

The only "bad" thing I've heard about eating bananas is that they can cause a false positive when testing for occult blood in the stool - one of the tests for bowel cancer! Regardless of that, bananas are recommended by physicians because of their easy digestibility, welcome palatability, and excellent nutritional value.

Their efficacy as a hangover cure? One of the causes of a "hangover" is that alcohol tends to deplete potassium in our systems when imbibed to excess, whereas bananas are one of the best natural sources around of potassium! QED!

In all seriousness, you'd really run into problems if anyone had that attitude in both the Professional and Amateur game, especially with #MeToo it (quite rightfully) works both ways.

If a member of the team was an "Out" Lesbian and went about "Being over friendly", it would fall into the same category as a Male member of the Squad being over friendly. It wouldn't be long before it gets leaked to the Press/Media and the Team would have a big problem.

Teams have a Care of Duty to all members of the team.

Sadly in the past in the Male game, teams have failed to extend that duty of care leading to tragic results.

I'm not saying that away from the Game, members of teams have had relationships etc, but in the term of sexually enjoying "Goal Celebrations," that's a fantasy.

    Meanwhile

I'm off for Fish & chips.
I'm so full of potassium, which makes a change from the guy in the Bar last night who told me "You're full of shit" when I failed to fall his charms.

Oh I know, I just tease and fantasize you know. And given my extreme shyness in reality, I would most likely just stay out of the celebration meekly. But that's one of the good things about this place; we fantasize and joke around about things we wouldn't and/or couldn't actually do in real life. And as someone who has experience playing soccer/football I'm sure you've been nothing but professional and upstanding:beerchug: maybe the wrong smilie given your hangover lol.

Mmmm, fish and chips, guess you're not THAT hungover. And that guy deserved a penalty kick if you catch my drift, that ideology that if a woman isn't interested then obviously something is wrong with her:pat: there is no such thing as a guy who is God's gift to women, no matter how big the ego it just doesn't exist(though it's normal to occasionally wish we were)

For all that France didn't really start to play until the last 25 minutes or so, the US only managed a 2:1 victory, the early goal of which was little more than a fluke - a free kick into the French box that somehow sailed untouched through a jostling mass of bodies and legs that unsighted the goalie! But the obvious subsequent difference between the teams was their apparent attitudes and energy levels - the US team appearing fitter, faster and more motivated, whereas the French looked lack-lustre, ponderous and unenthusiastic - surprising since they were the "home" team with tremendous support! Only when the French finally got on the score-sheet did they suddenly appear to believe in themselves and put the US under considerable pressure - but they left themselves too little time, and didn't exploit the opportunities they created.

I think if England play anywhere near as well as they did against Norway, tighten up their passing and cut out the periods when they appear to go off the boil, they should have little to fear next Tuesday!

PS My commiserations to our French phunners!

Im not rooting for US in any way but its good for the competition that not all teams are from Europe. Also Rapinoes fight with the trumpster is also a reason i like they are still in the comp.

It's 28c at 9am in London, going for a swim at the Lido with Wifie.

    Last night:
France behaved like a very successful team that was so stuck in their training that they were unable to adapt to a team with new ideas, different training and were running rings around them.

The difference is in reality France haven't been that remarkable and got through on luck and last minute goals

They reminded me of the England teams pre-2017/8, they had some really good players but for the most part, they played like individuals.
Indivduals who had real difficulties playing as a team.

The USA while not perfect, were like a team of gladiators with Rapinoe as their executioner, ( I share Flippy's opinion on her) what a player!!!

This was like old world meeting the new world.

France had their moments but were sleep walking for most of, only waking up at the beginning of the second half and after their goal.

I didn't appreciate the appearance of at least one case of French diving & some play acting.

If you looked at the difference between the Coaches, the USA Coach was busy on the touch line shouting instructions.
While the beautifully suited French coach sat there with a shocked look on her face, while she looked at a train crash.

Next? England have two extra days to recover, France if nothing else kept the USA busy last night.

I think on Tuesday the USA might have the edge, if we can get two goals in I'd be happy.
But on the day, Championship form means nothing, its how the teams react and work as a team.

I'm really looking forward to it!!!

It's interesting, and pleasing, that VAR didn't reveal its presence at all in the France/US game!

I noticed that, since the Cameroon game its been absence?

I feel for France, for me they just didn't gel as a team.

    Meanwhile
35-37c London is not build for this, the rip out merchants are out, we were going to get a Shandy (Wifie wanted one) from a Stall, the guy wanted £5 for a small "glass", another wanted £7 for a Choc Ice.

Needless to say we didn't buy.

Tonight we're going to see "A Star is Born" in a park on the big screen.

    Italy out!! Netherlands through 2-0

    Lips sealed:)

It was like being back in Australia today, actually love the heat its just the buildings here aren't built for this sort of weather.

That's why we stayed in the park/my little roof garden, I think my little cousins bf (they're staying with us), aka skater guy is afraid of me.
