who is deleting my post and why?

I posted links to video files twice now and both times they are got deleted!

I have PM enabled and I dont have any messages.

I checked the mail account that I have assosciated to my phun forum account and I didnt get any messages.

I am not breaking any rules that have been posted in the video forum rules sticky.

Come on guys, I worked hard to get this post together so I could share it and I am getting crapped on. WHY?

 

First of all it is a full scene of a paysite, so that aloneis against the rules. You used a url shortener to hide the identity of where you are uploading the vids to. That to is a nono because some sites contain viruses and url shortneners are ripe for abuse. Third if you did bother reading all the rules you would have known that we do not send pm's nor emails to threads that violate our rules. We tarsh on average 100 threads a day on this site, if we have to send out 100 pm's as well it is just to much work for the 4 active mods.

 

I followed the rules to the T, not breaking one of them. You posted the rules so you of all people should be familiar with them.

1) no where in the video forum rules does it say that you cannot use shortened urls. What it says is: "The draw back to posting just a link is if we(ie mods/admins) find a link that contains malware, viruses, trojans, spyware, anything harmful to our system you will be banned."

The reason I used tiny url is because the movies reside on my personal server. I dont want people looking through my server so I shortened the url.

2) The video is one that I created from over 100 parts that I have downloaded from Ravens Site. These videos are available to anyone for free, you just have to know where to find them. I was nice enough to make 1 big video from all the small videos. There is nothing wrong with that.

3) I know that you are busy, but comon man, I was trying to share what I thought was a good video that I created. If you dont want my contributions thats up to you. But as I said before, I read your rules and didnt break any of them.

I wont bother to post anymore. Im just sorry that my hours of effort were not appreciated.

 

if it was hosted by your server why not just have it as 1 large file? why break it down?

Maybe you should upload the files to a third party server. Post screenys. Post file info. and then you'd be fine...

 

The reason it is like that is because of 2 reasons.


First of all, I was being courteous to the downloaders that may not be able to download the entire file at once. I for one hate to start a 200 meg download only to have it freeze or have some other problem during the transfer. With par and rar files, it gives everyone the ability to download the files.
I do not use dialup, havent in a long time. But I know a ton of dialup users that would like to download a 200 meg vid clip. With the files broken down, they to can enjoy them.

The second reason I did it this way is that it keeps the file from being streamed and forces people to download it. I dont have the bandwith on my server for links to start going out all over the place and have people stream it. If people download it, they must really want it.

I keep down the bandwith on my server by making people work a little for it. It works out in the long run for everyone. If someone really wants the raven vid, they will spend the time to download it.

 

well instead of hosting all these free videos why don'tyou just provide links in a thread to all of them so people can just download it direcetly from her site for free.

I dont have the time to upload it to rapidshare and all those other places. I broke it into 2 parts and tried to upload it to rapidshare. I waited for 2 hours for just the first part to complete and it never did. I have 4 dual channel T1 lines that I can burst up to 5.8Mbps so bandwith on my side was not the problem. Anyways, it is just too much hastle. I guess if people want it, they can have it. Caps or not, if they are a RR fan, they should want it.

let me chime in on this.............dude how are we (the mods) supposed to be able to tell that it's 100 smaller clips as opposed to one or two larger full vids when you don't provide screen caps and are so hesitant to do so. Sound like you got found out, and your just trying to justify now why you don't have to follow the rules when thousands and thousands do.........Hell I've alone probably trashed 50 RR threads just in the last 3-4 weeks alone.......ALL of which turned out to be full vids.

Get over it, post small clips if you like..........but we aren't going to spend all the time D/Ling the vids just to make sure YOURS are legit.

Maybe you guys deal with alot more crap than I can imagine but I was just trying to post something for everyone on the forum to enjoy. wtfazzhole deleted both posts and I had no idea why,pardon me for trying to get across my point of view.

I read the sticky about the forum rules (because I have seen you guys jump on others for not following your rules) and abided by them so I was surprised to see that my posts just vanished with no explanation.

You guys need to relax a little bit and stop pointing fingers so soon. I know what I am doing and just because I make a post that is a little out of the norm, doesnt mean it is not legit. I have been using and admining a few binary news groups for over 10 years. Just cause you guys post one way, doesnt mean that there is no other way. I was posting on my own server so I didnt have to wait hours and hours to upload the video using the free servers you guys rely on.

And who said the mods had to look at everything on here. Why dont you let some of the other members point out the fact that something isnt legit instead of just assuming that it isnt.

To show you guys that it was a legit post I am following your guidelines and uploading it through the horribly slow rapidshare. I will post the 2 parts that are 95 meg each. I will make some pretty little screen caps as well for you to view.

 

Well......isn't that sweet, admining a few news groups for 10 years. GREAT. Congrats. We have rules, we have standards here. If you don't want to follow them, then I guess we'll only have 121,268 members.......And yes the statement that we deal with alot more crap is correct.......just like this.

Thats the problem, I didnt break any rule. wtfasshle was quick to jump on my posts without realizing that there was actually nothing wrong with them. You guys just want to jump on me but whatever. I see that you have made up your minds and I am fighting a loosing battle.

I will try not to break any more of the rules that I didnt break before.
