    Hi everyone.

I want a good video-cutter software which can easily cut particular scenes/portions from DivX-Xvid, mpeg, avi, wmv, vob(dvd) videos..etc..etc. Like for example what vcd cutter used to do when old cd formats were in use.

So please advice & suggest me some good video cutters which you all use.

Womble MPEG Video Wizard DVD is the best for vob and mpeg video cutting
for avi, just use the free virtualdub

VirtualDubMpeg is the fastest and easiest I've used for avi's. it also does vob's, mpeg's and most wmv's. Here's a quick tutorial I posted on another forum:

If the file is an avi. choose the "Direct stream copy" option from the menu:

Select the start of the scene using the slider along the button and press the small "right" arrow or the "End" key on your keyboard to highlight the part you want to remove then press the "Delete" key to remove it:

Move the slider to the end of the scene and press the left hand arrow or the "Home" button to select where you want to end the cut. Press the right "Skip" button (like on a CD/DVD player) or press "Ctrl + End" to move to the end of the whole film and press the right hand arrow or the "End" key to highlight the last part you want to remove and press the "Delete" key:

You are now left with the scene you wish to save. Select "Save as avi" from the "File" menu and wait a couple of minutes for the file to save.

The editor is not frame accurate (but close enough). If you want to cut mpegs & vobs you will need to use "Full Processing" and select a codec in the "Compression" folder. This will take much longer to save. If you don't choose a codec the file may be a few gigabytes!!!! If copying from DVD use the "de-interlace" filter in the "Filters" menu for a smoother picture.

Ive seen that some of the software that was a free gift on the "giveawayoftheday" site
was also added again on a later date. This one is given before on 2003:
    http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/commercial/2003/03/11/avi-splitter-mpeg-splitter/

If it will turn, then you don't have to pay $34.95. Just keep checking the site!
And no worries though, i will let you know when founding something usefull like this one on there ;)

    *BTW:
VOTE FOR IT!! on the "giveawayoftheday" site click on the link that looks as this here ;)
