Ok so my internet speed is only like 1500kb/s which is normal for me, and i never usually have a fast up/or download speed but at the moment it is very slow at downloading, it wont go past 30kb/s. so my question is..what could be holding it back??

the service is gone haywire. rapishit introduced a happy hour new icons that make so difficult to see codes other long codes.
Now they trying to disable scripts.
Anyway, that shows what a little power can do on internet. RS says to users Jump!. Users respond...How high!

I get 450Kb/s regardless of my connection speed and have done for the last year. The only problem I have with RS is that I can't always access it.

Top download speed anywhere between 140kb/s to 160kb/s all depends on how far you are from the adsl node.

You both must be joking, dudes !

I have an official 128kbs speed (official !) limitless, which costs me almost 90 euros per month (bloody place where I'm right now for work); I'm forced to use a dwl manager (getright, imagien if I have to dwl one file at a time !!!!) and I have NEVER downloaded anything faster than 20 kbs and for few seconds !!!

May I ask whether it's also because of getright that my dwl speed is bloody slow, not getting even close to 128 ?

Thanks and please don't complain for your light-speed connection...

By the sounds of it your on a 128kb/s which means BITS per second not BYTES so 20k downloads speeds is about normal. I'm on a 10mbit line which means its a 10,000kb/s connection which means my max download speed is around 1mb per second.

Actual/real-time download speed of any net is = 1/10th of the plan speed (or surfing/connection speed) & the most maximum it could go is 1/8th of the plan/connection speed.

    Eg: 10mbps means actual/real-time would be 1mbps [1/10th of 10]
    256kbps means actual/real-time would be around 25kbps [1/10th of 256]

& maximum real-time speed which can be reached is 1/8th speed of the connection or plan.

    Anybody agrees ?

It seems that from now on Rapidshare have decided to limit the download speed to 500kbps (=50KB/s) for free users... :(

(Sorry for the bump but I thought it was an appropriate topic to post this).

it amazes me that this hasn't come up earlier in a forum that works almost entirely with rapidshare. Rapidshare is more or less useless now.
