  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    What do you guys use to view and may be re-encode the files in another format. Just out of interest of course.

    real media video. It is a crappy player and there is really no codec i know of that plays that crap except their own software.

    Real media variable bitrate, produced and able to be viewed with Realplayer. (you can download the program via Google's website.)

    There are plenty of programs that can re-encode the file, I myself use the "ImToo" converter if I find it necessary to shift to another video format.

    Also, there are many media players that are able to play the format, and many others that can't only need a codec update. WMP, RealPlayer, VLC, etc.

    I use media player classic + K-Lite Mega Codec Pack to play rmvb files.
