Rapidshare Sucks,Lets discuss

Hello everyone, I am quite familiar with rapidshare & I want to know & discuss that why rapidshare is the most commonly used upload engine when so many other like; megashare,filerom etc etc are available.
I am grudging it so much now because from some time I have been noticing that rapidshare is becoming too frequent in deleting the links which are old or deleting it stating forbidden to be shared : complaints received without caring for the value of the stuff uploaded & time & labour used in uploading.
I became quite restless when I was giving my friend links of 1 of our forum post-Scarlett Johansson on Jay Leno (Pics + Video) [http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?p=1111775] & found out that it has been deleted on account of complaints received forbidden to be shared.WHO the hell are fools who give complains for clean things like this one??? :???:
Please guys - give ur detailed views regarding this issue :-|

 

three reasons for RS-links being deleted:

- copyright complaints.
- many people just don´t like their vids/pics shared.
(first two are sometimes closely correlated)
- some folks download vids, rename the files, post them after reporting the "original" link to RS.

and even sometimes uploaders delete their links for any unknown reasons...

none of these are rapidshare-"issues". maybe the guys over there just take care for their own TOS - and you have to be aware that rs is very popular, so the links are everywhere.

Just three more small questions-

1st- Please explain this point a bit more- some folks download vids, rename the files, post them after reporting the "original" link to RS.

2nd- What's the full form of "TOS"

3rd- These days I am getting very low download speed from rapidshare & lots of my download gets hung in between on the other hand I use torrent client & getting very high speed in it, so I am confused-Is their any problem with rapidshare these days or should I get my connection checked?

1st - some people just ant all the credit/points for themselves, so they eliminate the competition by reporting links.

2nd - "Terms of Sevice" , or rules and guidelines for using rapidshare.

3rd - rapidshare may be going at lower speeds because you are not a full member.
Others tend to use enhancing programs to get more speed, such as Flashget.
So, do not think it is your connection, just your situation with rapidshare.

Well I know this you just said above & totally agree
& thats why you will find all my video posts are non rapidshare.
We obvious have other good choices than rapidshare.

So basically I am using www.fileshost.com
to upload & share my files. No bloody rapidshare.

 

I think it is compatible for free users in fileshost.com

 

for people with dynamic IP addresses, rapidshare free is just as good as premium. all i do is turn my router off and on again, and the 1 hour wait is gone. i get full speed too.
my least favourite is megaupload for their annoying as hell unblockable popup.

 

Ya, megaupload is quite annoying.I downloaded megamanager,megatoolbar & even created a free account there, still I have to keep trying & wait for hours to get a download going.
There are so many good image hosting sites around but very few good vedio hosting.

 

ya'll that complain about RS never seem to realize or figure out how easy it is to just pay for the thing ONCE, and never have to pay a single penny EVER again..........WE RS users don't just use it for the ease of uploading stuff (because we also tend to be the only ones that SHARE around here).....but it's a GREAT file storage site. I have 3 RS accounts (which I have only paid for one........one time........nearly three years ago......7 dollars), and have approximately 600 GB stored on them. No other's can do that.

 

:2cent:the real issue is lack of creativity.
say i have three files that are to be shared and enjoyed.
premium member or not, i can only get one at a time.
uploading the file to three different file shares allows you to upload simultaneously and download the same way. cutting download times by margins. here is an example.

now if your wise, you will open each one in a new tab, wait the required 48 seconds and download them at the same time. when your done you will have two of a thirteen part series.
On the http://thr-support.com there was a posting that listed all the available file sharing site. so i would just go down the list

I can upload and/or D/L multiple RS files at the same time....where the hell did you hear differently. I do it almost daily where I will Up say 7 or 8 files at the same time (say 7 100 Mb files for a video). Or if I see a full vid I want.....I open up 7 download windows....and bam....10-15 minutes later I have the whole video.

Try a better argument then can't up or down multiple files, cause that just doesn't work.

Well Mate: as I noted, i have never payed for the rapid share service. I have no desire to do so. Pirates don't pay. I was wrong - if you say you can, then you must be honored. ;-)

Ok try this mess. Do you know why we don't use Bit-torrent for downloading copyrighted shit - its 100% traceable. RS and megaupload (the two biggest) are number 13 and 18 most popular sites on the web. "THAT MEANS THEY WILL BE NOTICED SOON DUDE!" Yes if i go and download from the free side its passable to be tracked, but would they follow through on it?
If i did pay for this account there is a path, a clear and defined subject at the end to be prosecuted, every download noted with your password and sign on. Your account records are noted accordingly. Premeditated desire to preform such dubious acts of larceny. The case has merit.

Ha.. ha.. nice reasoning above, anyway brcook09 must be having exuberant download speed to be able to download 7 , 8 files at ones!!

 

Be careful. I think the megautoolbar contains spyware.

 

I also not trust the tool.
If you find anything that doesnt work properly,etc after installing megauplaodtoolbar, you can select it in (hope you have) spybot "search & destroy" (freeware), menu tools, then BHO'S (browser helper objects), select! the clsid that should be from this megatoolbar, and click above on "toggle". Then you have just disable it, but not remove it and everything should still work fine.

What about people who dont have credit cards??
I have enough cash for life time RS membership, but i am a school kid with no Job and no credit card. I have to do with normal RapidShare with slow download and 1 hour wait time!!

Plz use other free File Sharing service plzzzz

go buy a debit card and use the card to start the account.........share enough and never have to pay again .......jeez people, it's not rocket science.

 

I'd try divshare.com, videos hosted in .rars I assume can not be assumed as porn, just guessing.
