  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Hi Staff,

I have a question about adding a picture host, which allows hotlinking for BIG images (> 1.5 MB).

Any chance to get this implemented here?

I have already asked TaiPan some time ago, but he couldn't answer my question.

    What do you think about

    Code:
    http://bilderhosting.ath.cx/index.php
    ?

The big hotlinked pictures work nearly all the time and the picture size is 4 MB.

    Thanks for any opinions!

    Cheers
    phil

P.S.: And no, Imagetitan didn't work for me with the big pictures! ;)

This very friendly guy,TaiPan,answered your question on 2/20/2008 in 5 pm's, 3 in english & 2 in german.

The answer was, that we don't add any new hosts at the moment, but when we (admin & mods) decide to add some new hosts ,yours is on the list to discuss.

Imagebam, imagevenue, freeimagehost and imageshadow all allow 3MB pictures. Rehostit allows 5MB pictures.

I didn't mean that you didn't answer me. I just wanted to ask again, because I had problems with imagetitan recently. Sorry about the confusion! :)

The full version on Rehostit didn't work here as well.

Why don't you just resize your pics then?

The screencaps for the vids would become too small. I always post the large screens as thumbnails on imagebam as well, but I like to post the full size screens too.

But nevermind. I guess I have to wait then!

    Thanks for your answers though!

You don't have to change the resolution of the picture, just the size of the file. Check out XnView
