Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

I just tried every single one of the imagehosts on your ok-list. I must say that I am not particularly impressed. It's a somewhat poor list (save imagevenue). Not one of your 'superb' hosts offer full size hotlinking, only thumbnails are offered. (Though imagesocket can be "forced" to display full size images by replacing 'thumbs' with 'images' in the generated link). Secondly, some of them were so slow, the upload that is, that I am sure that I actually started growing grey hairs at age 29.

I am fairly certain that most users - if not all users - prefer full size images/screencaps in the post itself, instead of having to click a thumbnail which then prompts a new window. It's just so much easier and more enjoyable to browse porn if there are images in the post itself, and not just thumbs.

Do you not want ease for your members? Or do you not want full size images in the posts. If not, why?

The "forum industry" is growing each day, and there are lots of new and SPAM FREE hosts out there. You just have to look for them. I am a moderator at another forum, and we actually partner up with moderators from other boards and share if and when we find good, reliable hosts. Also, spam isn't, as such, an issue if the screencap is embedded into the post, since the members can't click them.

Anyway, if and when you get the time, you may want to check out the following imagehosts:

    easyimage.us - good
    picfront.org - excellent
    pornimg.com - excellent
    uploadhouse.com - ok
    hotimagez.net - really excellent
    pictureuploaderstop.net - good
    filecloud.com - really good

All of the above offer full size hotlinking, which means that your loyal members never even have to leave your site!

Anyway, there are a lot more than the ones mentioned above. But certainly, I can see that it's a lot easier for you guys just to stick with your list and not having to spend any time browsing and looking for other reliable imagehosts.

Yes you're right were lazy and don't give a crap about the members of Phun.

Three of those sites don't allow adult content and I was redirected three times on one while trying to read the TOS. For me that doesn't scream reliability.

I prefer thumbnails. I don't like waiting for a shitton of full-size images to load only to find that I don't even like half of them. :2cent:

Just to sound in, I have and still occasionally use picfront.org to post full-size images, and it works just as it should. The site has nice enough features that if/when you register, you can organize and compile your pics in a neat arrangement. The only faults that it has(had?) a pay-per-click/redirection feature for your uploaded pics, which may not fly here. Also, so long as you know how to post full-sized images directly into your posts, you should not have much problems with the obligatory pop-up that follows if you would be careless enought to redirect yourself to their site to see the same image there.

I sent an email to the owners of each of these sites and they all say that adult content is ok - that's what they make their living off. The rules are just standard. For instance, I e-mailed the owner of pornimg and asked him how a site called PORNimg could not allow adult content he replied:

About the re-direction. Well, that's pretty much standard. Have you ever clicked on a thumbnail to imagevenue? Well that has an add too and you have to click the 'skip this add' to actually see the picture.

But what is striking is how this is so incredibly irrelevant. Because if the image is embedded into the post, you don't have to go to their site, thus no re-direction and NO ADDS. Secondly, you mentioned three of the sites, what about the other four?

The point is merely that you might want to consider adding a host - any host - that allows full size images, because all the ones in your ok-list do not. It gives the posters the opportunity to choose between full size images and thumbnails. I believe 'choice' is a good thing, not a bad thing. I'll be hard-pressed to believe that you can not find ONE reliable host that allows full size images - just one, that's all I am aksing. And the reason why I stated seven was so that you have some place to start. No one says that you need to go with any of the above, but all I am asking is for you to find and allow one tiny host that allows full size images. Is that really too much to ask for?

Firstly, Ive never had to do that with an Imagevenue thumb

Secondly i have to agree with Lydis that i like the posts to have thumbs in them and not all full size pics (model forum im talking) so i can chose which pics i like or if need be ill use IPLED to grab them all. i like to use a full size screen cap in the vid forum though and ive found no problems with image socket.. but i hear what your saying, and i know that the mods dont just sit around on there arses, they do like phun to be in good shape so ill leave it upto them to decide what is what :2cent:

It must be said that I am ONLY talking about the video section.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear about that.

Edit: I've been in the picture section once. I like amateur pictures, though. I too think that thumbs are good in the pics section, since there are often many images in one post. What I am talking about is in the video section, where you have one scene per post, thus only having one screencap per post. It is in this case I would like one of the hosts on the ok-list to be one which allows full size images.

Have you tried the picfront Uploader? I can't seem to get it to work correctly - well actually I can't seem to get it to work at all. I usually upload a bunch of screencaps at once, so these uploaders are a real big help. Uploading one image at a time is a thing of the past.

Input is allways welcome & much appreciated.

But it's not a good way to start such a thread & call the people who run this board, lazy & uninterested.

Show some respect to a place that's absolutely free without adds and the people who keep this place clean.

When we decide to add one or more hosts to our approved list, we will also discuss the ones you posted.

    But for now:

Hotlink your caps with imagesocket or just post a thumb.

And don't worry we have the time and interest to check new hosts.

    imagehosts:

    a) for me hotlinking is completely over-rated. more than just someties it leads to slow site-loading and "ruins" the appearance of a thread (breaking the frames etc.) sigs, a cover pic, all the "spam"-threads in the GF -fine (although it takes ages to open a page of this one - and that´s at least partly distracting)

    b) no imagehost really appreciates hotlinking. no chance for advertising, no page-clicks - but kills bandwidth. that´s why they are limiting hotlinking. and that´s why even imagesocket leads to a "sorry, too much bandwidth" - pic instead of showing the uploaded pic at a certain stage.

in general: there´s always room for reasonable suggestions / requests.
