How social media and stupid people fuck up everything.

This is a perfect example of all the things that are currently out of control.
I avoid reading the news at all costs, just because there's only negativity out there. But due to my job and the ubiquity of social media I'm not 100% able to escape all the shit.

I'm following the founder of engadget.com (and lots of other blog type of sites). Jason Calacanis, he sold the sites years ago and is now a filthy rich (and apparently dumb) older dude living in his bubble in San Francisco. He shared the following video:



You can clearly tell, that the video is heavily edited and doesn't show any context. Yet this guy, somebody of whom one might think is somewhat smart, decided to share it. Willingly put more gasoline on the fire that is all this race drama in these past weeks.

This is the first problem. People sharing bullshit left, right and center. They have their own agenda, fueled by mindlessly consuming the news all day.



And than you see the full video. Which paints a totally different story.

Some sort of tiny altercation happened and the black family calling the white folks ignorant and that they need to apologize. They call her all sorts of bad words. Still things are somewhat normal, until one of the black women decided to willing walk BEHIND the car, so they can't leave. She hits the car multiple times with her hand. At this point the white woman loses her shit and goes off.

Bottom line. I'm not saying either party is 100% right here. Most likely both parties fucked up in some ways. But normal people would go by their day...these days in America you need to pull out your gun (everybody needs one, cause it lowers the violence - LOL).

But my other issue is with the mindless sharing of this kind of content. The world doesn't become better because you decide to share such a shit, out of context video. Esp. in crazy times like now.
