  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

EDIT: Unfortuntately, it turns out that this IS NOT free. :( Yesterday, a pop-up annouced that the trial period is almost over, but when I d/l'ed this, there was nothing about this.

I recently started using a free program called the VideoPad Video Editor, which can be d/l'ed at http://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/

A pop-up encourages you to buy it, but it goes away after a few seconds.

My most recent edited contributions were done using this program and I was able to edit a true HD ( 1920 x 1080 ) clip w/o the watermarking of most free (and some paid) programs.

Most of my recently edited clips are in the 4 to 6 minute range (90 to 200 MB) nd have taken less than 5 minutes to make the new clip, but viewing and segmenting still takes time.

The true HD clip was 3:51 and 300 MB and took about 15 minutes.

While the program is fairly simple to use, it can be a bit confusing. But, since it's FREE, ya can't really complain.

    Enjoy,

    BQ
