    First of all, the term "Hispanic" means: A person of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central or South American, or other Spanish Culture. Regardless of race.

    Now, every single country or region listed in that definition has large groups of people of african decent which call that place home (they were born there). Christina Milian is Cuban-American. She also appears to be of African decent in one way or another (a great number of Cubans are). Here in America, people of african decent are called "black", whether they like it or not (or if it's right or wrong). Therefore, anyone from a spanish-speaking country and of african decent can be both "hispanic" and "black" here in America.

    "Hispanic" is a pigeon-hole classification, not a race.

    I don't understand why anyone would call themselves "Hispanic" anyways, especially if you know where the word comes from. It's not all good.

    Anyways,

    You're both right (in a way), but neither of you are fully correct.
