Saw the trailer. Looks terrible. I thought Fury Road was bad but this looks baaad.

 

Fury Road was great, but this looks like CGI crap.

 

Fury Road was A) an objectively incredible film and B) had a ton of CGI that was done completely seamlessly. I think Miller will deliver a great follow-up

 

Subjectively, not objectively. Opinion is not fact. I could debate the flaws and merits of this movie with you through every minute of it and neither of us would be right or wrong.

 

I’m using ‘objectively’ a bit hyperbolically to refer to the fact that the film was met with near universal recognition as both a technical and creative achievement by audiences, critics, and other filmmakers alike. I’m aware of the difference, thanks

 

Yeah but if you know the difference between them then use the right one. I mean they are close to opposites. Nobody likes it when people use figurative and literal the wrong way so why not just use it the right way and avoid the confusion.

I don't think it was technically anything special at all. I think that it was critically fawned over for no real reason and creatively? It was one long chase sequence with stunts. Max was a side character in his own movie, Furiosa didn't spark anything and Immortan Joe was not great. No bad, just meh.
There is a basic rule in action when it comes to movies that says you don't go over 20 minutes for your action sequence. By the time the chase started in FR I was already not feeling it. 30 minutes into the chase I was bored. They basically tried to recreate the epic Mad Max 2 ending without the build up.
I will say that the film looks spectacular though. It really is one of those movies where you can pause it anywhere and it looks like a piece of art.

 

Who cares about CGI or whatever when you have Anya Taylor-Joy?

 

Anya is awesome, very sexy!

 

I thought I was the only person on the planet that didn't like this movie while all the media and my friends jizzed violently in praise of it.

 

They say a picture paints a thousand words. Meanwhile, these 2 words painted a horrid picture.

 

Nah... not even close. It's an OK movie at best. If I want to watch an epic Mad Max chase scene, I'll go watch Road Warrior before Fury Road... hell, I might even watch Beyond Thunderdome before it.

 

I loved the movie and still watch it to this day. The fact that people shit on it is new to me, but whatever, I will still enjoy it.

 

Still find it odd to be called Road Warrior. Everywhere it's called Mad Max 2
