Two great looking sigs.

The style of #1 grabbed my attention and love the way it was implemented. It's nice a sharp too.

#2 seems to have a excess empty space, but I like the box on the left. Looks cool.

I went with #1.

both are top notch....however.......#1 needs a drop shadow or something to complete it.....Something is missing......a border on #2 would have helped out a lot..but all in all I'll let my vote say which i like best....awesome stuff by both..

I agree with Kaos, #1 might look better with a drop shadow.
I had a tough time deciding, mainly because I'm more of a fan of the traditional sig style, but you can't ignore the creativity of #1.
Great sigs by both of you, but I went with #1 in the end

Sig 1 has some really nice blending and collage work inside it, but to me the shape cut-out looks kinda sloppy.

If 1 had more of a 450x150 traditional layout, with some nice text work it would definitley get my vote!

2 is about as traditional as you can get with forum sigs, centered image with a bursting vector that highlights everything behind it. Very well executed and the little character box was a fresh touch! :thumbs:

 

Almost voted for sig 2 but then i did see the shape of sig 1 was a bat, that's why sig 1 got my vote.

I liked both, 1 is nice and different, and I'm sure that a user name nicely shadowed under the bat would look awesome, it makes a change from the standard rectangle.
However, I voted 2 largely because the animation in it appeals to me, particularly liked what GBTG referred to a the "bursting vector".

This was difficult. I really like the composition in number one, and the idea of having it within the Batman sign. I thought it was a speck on my screen at first but it does have a slight anomaly the creator missed, plus it's ever so slightly jaggy around some edges.

Number two is more straightforward. I like the effect around the hand but I'm not sure about the background, or the smaller picture in the bottom left. Colours are nice though.

I went for number one in the end. I just think slightly more thought was put into it. They're both nice sigs though.

 

I have to go with #1...the thing that made it the winner in my eyes is that the sig is actually the shape of the bat symbol, that's just freakin sweet
