APPEARANCE Sophie Nelisse - 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles - 1/15/2024

Possibly the most elegant actress of her generation. Well, her and Katherine Langford, maybe. Their dressed-down beats most people's dressed-up.

 

Pics on her instagram show the dress to be more sheer than seen here and leave me wondering if she was wearing underwear.

 

Sophie got gypped at the Emmy's. Can't believe she didn't even get nominated.

 

I cannot seem to find any decent resolutions from behind or from the right hand side. This saddens me.

In writing. The acting was still great all around. The younger cast are the ones carrying the show and get no credit. I don't want to disparage Melanie or Christina, but especially in S2, Sophie and Sammy were killing it without a lot to work with.

 

And yet, Melanie Lynskey was nominated for the 'same' character. Sophie stole the season with the birth episode, but she's still way too underrated.
About the show, IMO the problem is the adult part... it drags the plot. The teens are trying to survive during winter, running out of food, slowly falling into despair. And the plan of the showrunners is to make 5 seasons (too much), so it's a slow burner.
The adults' story has become bland, everything happens in a few days, and they're just going around in circles.

But it was the typical season 2, "the bridge", you know? Now the bridge has burned, and they have to move forward or die... hopefully

BUT the real problem is the lack of nudity

 

That's what gets me. I can see if no one was nominated, but it's always Ricci and/or Lynskey. I don't want to bash them because they are good actresses, but yeah, the 90s storyline is why people watch. It's all politics. That's why I don't take awards seriously.

S1 had nudity, didn't it? The cast probably has too much clout to do any now.

 

Agree 100%. The teen part of the show is fabulous and the adult part... well, I'm not even sure why it's there. I think that they hired "fabulous" big-name actresses to get the show green-lit and so there's a need to shower them with praise, whereas the younger cast are lesser known and so their amazing work (Sophie is just the best out of a truly outstanding group) and so get pushed aside.

 

Would love to see some shots from the right side where the see thru goes up higher.

Her Instagram showed the dress to be slightly see-through at the top and that she was braless -- can't rule out nipple tape. But I see no trace of anything that could be underwear. I think she fully committed to the commando life, or perhaps it (wisely) chose her.
