good morning. Im glad reading the reports that numbers are going down in the UK. In my continued mission to give people in lockdown a smile each day i present this.

 

Yeah, it's a sarcasm heavy account I believe, but if you want to see the real deal I can point you to some media personalities/networks and a former Governor there actually blaming wind turbines and the Green New Deal for the crisis in Texas.. a reminder that the Green New Deal is not actually law right now and nowhere close to being so

 

Been working this morning, just about finished now.

I heard on the radio that Texas's electricity problems/rolling power cuts hasn't happened to the rest of the new "Frozen Zone".

Is a result of of Texas was given the chance to join the "National Grid"(which the other frozen States are part of)
but the State government turned it down because they wanted more control of the network within Texas
and "provide a better service" (and bigger profits for the company/share holders?), now i don't know how accurate this is.

Could anyone from Texas comment?

Texas leads the US in terms of "New energy" (Wind/Solar), but on wind turbines, true some of them froze inland,
but those on the coast were working perfectly in fact they were working overtime.

I don't mind observations, (especially if you're in Texas or in the freeze zone and going through it).
But not to the extent of tribal politics that will only serve to get people's backs up.

I'll illustrate it with a map.

Excuse me Governor of Texas, blaming it on "New energy" aka Solar/Wind turbines "going down", (which on the Texas coast did not go down were in fact generating
above normal levels) which accounts for 10% of electricity produced in Texas, doesn't make sense, are you saying the remaining 90% couldn't cope?

If anything, does that show how important "New energy" is?
Could the real answer be, profits from the Texan grid went to shareholders (and nothing wrong with that in good times)
and not re-investing into improving the grid?

You can lie all you like, lies about other politicians/policy's have been so accepted that most people don't even take notice of them anymore.
But when you have power shortages/rolling power cuts in a weather emergency with people being left to fends for themselves because of your decisions, people tend to notice.

Not to worry friends i have a normal interest in politics as it affects our daily life directly or indirectly. I only go tribal when it comes to my favorite type of coffee.

 

Out of interest, what's your fav coffee

 

latte, machiato and americana if i go to a coffee shop. At home i prefer a stronger taste. Not to fruity.

 

Sometimes I enjoy the smell of ground coffee/filter/percolator more than actually drinking it.
