Little bit & like me has back problems.

 

i have been lurking a bit but im reading everything you post friends. Thanks for all great pics.

 

Wednesday and after a really early start, i'm finished for the day at 3pm.

We had Castings for lookalikes over the last two days and they're the biggest pains in the arse.
For people that lookalike the famous they have more airs & graces than the real thing.

I saw people in the street (and staff here after the casting) ask for a photograph with them.
They refuses unless they were paid for it before the photograph.

They see their face as a income stream, for that i don't blame them.
Its their attitude that goes with it.

I'm taking my second week off (as part of my Summer holidays) next week.
We're going to Hastings, i remember going there with the school.

Its kind of fun i dont know what to expect from it. I never read the books i did see Lynch version, which in retrospect was ok i didnt hate it. I do remember the scenes were they rode the sand worms were just silly. Lynch himself said he was the wrong man for the job. I do like most of what Villeneuve has done so i will check it out but im no fanboy in this instance. Feels refreshing in a sense just go into the experience with little preconcieved expectations.

 

Morning, Yesterday for some reason i kept thinking it was Thursday and now it is.

Office is quite after the last two days of Casting.

Football practice went well, even if i'm walking like one of the living dead today.
We have a match tonight, the first since February.

Sad news: I used to spend Summer's when i was little/younger in Southern Oregon.
Learnt last night that it looks like the house where i lived has either gone
in the fires or severely damaged and the area around it all but gone.

But thankfully my friends/family are ok.

I'm glad Andrew Lloyd Webber has spoken out.

He's at the really high end of the business (he own's the London Palladium along with a list of other
high profile UK & US Theatres) if he's struggling, what of the provincial and smaller theatres.
Some have already closed and won't be reopening, they're already mortgaged and loaned out.

Then what of the front of stage actors, yes are some are names that can afford to go on endless holidays.
But others have used up their savings and have had to take any job that's going.

I have a friend who in January was in the chorus of "Mary Poppins" the stage show
in London and is now a Delivroo driver (let me point out there's nothing to look down
on being a driver, but it illustrates what's happening). Its now not a case of Boris clicks
his fingers and everything goes back to the February Normal.

The longer it goes on, the harder it gets to "get back to normal".

There was a financial band-aid a few months ago, but that's gone and it aided mainly the big boys.

There's been lots of talk but no action, take a leaf out of Churchill's book "Action this day".

Rant over.

Here's Talent in Oregon where i used to spend my Summer's.

The family i lived with had moved (to Dallas, Oregon) and for the moment are safe.
They're waiting for confirmation that their old home (and the lovely garden with it)
has gone.

Another friend of mine has lost their home and its contents.

Its just as sad and heartbreaking regardless where it happens both for humans and nature.

 

On another sad note, Dame Diana Rigg passed away today

 

Hi from Hastings we're we'll be for the next week.

The news is, i got muscle damage in a tackle last night.
But we won (no i didn't score), but i went off and the girls strapped/taped it up and i've got pain killers.

I've done it before, so basically its elevate the leg and hop around for a day or two.

This place has wifi, so if it rains etc.
But its meant to get up to 27c next week.

Loved Diana Rigg, loved the Avengers, loved Emma Peel, loved her in GOT.

She was working up until lockdown and still can be seen on the remake of "All Creatures Great & Small" on C5 in the UK.

Saw her at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014, it might be 2015?
She didn't suffer fools gladly.

I spoke to my friends there yesterday, its nightmarish.

I want to get a demo of her doing it.

I think they were going for a bone structure.

It wasn't her hair, the angle of the face, it made her cheek look fat/puffy.

The girls on the football team sent me this get well hamper.
